Zhangbei, located in the northwest of Hebei Province, is a Bashang area on the southern edge of the Inner Mongolia Plateau, rich in wind and solar energy resources. At present, Zhangbei has completed an installed capacity of 2.28 million kilowatts of wind power and signed a total scale of 8.83 million kilowatts of photovoltaic development, making it a veritable "wind power capital" in China.
Zhou Ming, the head of Alibaba's technical support, said: "Zhangbei has a strong wind force and an annual average temperature of less than 3 degrees Celsius, which is like a natural heat sink. We expect that the cooling energy consumption of the data center alone can be reduced by 45%. We will use the world's most advanced green data center design scheme to turn Zhangbei's endless green energy into computing resources."
In the construction of the data center, Alibaba has given full play to the power of partners in the cloud ecosystem. In this project, Alibaba has chosen Shanghai Dataport, the leading green data center service provider in China, to cooperate and jointly serve the cloud computing industry in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

In consideration of the stable operation and security guarantee of cloud computing, the base plans to establish three mutually backed up data centers, which adopt the design concept of full modularization of network nodes, electromechanical, refrigeration, buildings and parks?
As one of the key projects of Beijing Tianjin Hebei cooperation, the base's landing will become an important stop of Beijing Zhangjiakou Green Data Corridor, further promoting the development of regional information industrialization. Hao Fuguo, secretary of Zhangbei County Party Committee, said: "Zhangbei is located in the 'golden latitude' area of cloud computing development, and is one of the regions closest to Beijing that are suitable for large-scale construction of cloud computing industry. The cloud computing base jointly built with Alibaba will explore new ideas for the use of green energy and improve the efficiency of the industrial chain."
When the base is completed, millions of Alibaba Cloud customers will become the biggest beneficiaries. The Silicon Valley data center in the United States was opened to use at the end of last year, and the Dubai data center has just started construction.
