Tencent Cloud is about to launch a new generation of cloud server instance, whose computing performance has improved significantly, and its performance in virtualization availability and product form is also better. At present, it has opened internal testing applications. The new generation instance is the flagship of Tencent's cloud server matrix. It is determined to serve the whole industry with higher quality, especially in the business scenarios with extreme requirements for computing efficiency in the era of big data and artificial intelligence.
The memory frequency of the new generation instance is increased to 2933MHz, which is 10% higher than that of the previous generation instance. It is more suitable for data intensive applications such as scientific computing and memory computing, such as Redis, Hadoop, Spark, etc; At the same time, the new instruction set is expanded to accelerate deep learning and AI related loads, such as image recognition, speech recognition, target detection, OCR, etc.
The new generation instance not only carries new hardware, but also adopts the new generation of self researched virtualization platform of Tencent Cloud, which is deeply optimized in combination with Windows and Linux distributions, greatly reducing the cost of virtualization resources, and providing performance comparable to that of physical machines. It is worth mentioning that this generation of instances, based on Tencent Cloud's massive server operation and maintenance experience, deeply optimized hardware reliability, predicted and timely avoided various hardware failures in advance, and provided the stability of industry-leading CVM instances.
In terms of product performance, the network packet forwarding capacity of the new generation instance can reach 10 million PPS, which is 67% higher than that of the previous generation instance. Based on the 25GE network environment, combined with the SPDK and RDMA technologies, the new generation instance is equipped with an ultra-high performance IOPS capability and ultra-low latency ESSD cloud disk, whose IO read and write performance is 8 times that of SSD cloud disk. The new generation instance can meet the application requirements for high IO and low latency, such as OLTP database and Elastic search log analysis.
