Gartner: It is estimated that China's IT expenditure will increase by 5% this year

American advanced anti DDoS server On January 26, it was reported that with the downturn of the world economy and the decline of GDP, the global IT expenditure in 2015 decreased sharply, and the IT expenditure decreased by 216 billion US dollars (a total of 3.52 trillion US dollars) compared with 2014. Many IT enterprises are on the verge of bankruptcy, and major manufacturers are holding together for warmth. However, according to Gartner's analysis, this situation is expected to change in 2016.

Gartner predicts that the total global IT expenditure in 2016 will reach US $3.54 trillion, up only 0.6% from US $3.52 trillion in 2015. Among them, China's IT expenditure is expected to reach 2.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 5% over last year.

Global IT Spending Forecast

As for the rapid change of global IT spending, John David Lovelock, vice president of Gartner Research, said: "The appreciation of the US dollar was the main culprit that led to the decline of spending in 2015. American multinational companies faced exchange rate difficulties in 2015, but these adverse factors will disappear in 2016, and they are expected to achieve an additional growth of 5%."

Gartner believes that the equipment market (personal computer PC, ultramobile, mobile phone, tablet computer and printer) is expected to decline by 1.9% in 2016. Due to economic conditions, Russia, Japan, Brazil and other countries are unable to reproduce stronger growth. In terms of mobile phone spending, emerging markets have also turned to lower cost mobile phones, while the regions that were expected to increase the popularity of tablet computers have seen sluggish growth. China's terminal equipment sector (mobile phones, PCs, tablets and printers) is estimated to be 768 billion yuan.

Strong server demand growth

It is worth noting that in 2016, the demand of the server market will maintain a strong growth trend, and the demand of this segment will rise rapidly and last for several quarters before falling.

With the implementation of cloud computing and big data, the demand for data centers is becoming increasingly prominent. Gartner estimates that the spending on data center systems will reach 175 billion dollars, an increase of 3% over 2015.

Compared with the strong growth of servers, people are suspicious of IT spending in emerging markets. However, Gartner believes that the deteriorating economic environment in emerging markets has little impact on the forecast of global enterprise software spending in 2016. IT spending will reach 326 billion dollars, an increase of 5.3% compared with 2015. However, major countries in emerging markets, especially Brazil and Russia, are facing increasing political and economic challenges.

After a decline of 4.5% in 2015, the IT service market expenditure in 2016 is expected to grow again. In 2016, IT service expenditure is expected to reach $940 billion, an increase of 3.1% compared with 2015. This is due to the popularity of cloud infrastructure and the growing acceptance of buyers' cloud models.

On the whole, in 2016, global IT pointed out that there was a trend of improvement, but it was still difficult to reach the expenditure level of 2014. Compared with the weak growth of the consumer market, the demand growth of enterprise products will be the main force to promote the growth of global IT spending this year.
