Microsoft plans to build two new data centers in Sweden

According to Swedish newspaper Gefle Dagblad, Microsoft is building two new data centers in Sweden. It was previously reported in December that the company had purchased 130 hectares of land in Yevle and Sandviken near Stockholm, Sweden. In a press release obtained by Gefle Dagblad, Microsoft said: "We intend to develop land to build a world-class data center that meets sustainable and environmental standards."

The report mentioned that because there are still legal disputes between Microsoft and the municipal authorities of Yeffler and some citizens, US server They appealed to the court to review the decision to sell the land to Microsoft, because residents worried that the new data center might lead to power shortages in the region.

Microsoft's new Swedish data center has not yet appeared on the company's Azure website, but it is worth noting that Microsoft also announced the construction of two Azure computing regions in Norway next door not long ago.

As the world's largest cloud service provider, Microsoft currently has 54 Azure service areas in the world, more than any other cloud provider.
