How can I manually modify the VPS and server remote ports?

In order to ensure the security of our server, we can adopt various methods. Today, we share with you that we can manually modify the VPS and server remote ports to avoid others scanning the remote desktop connection ports Windows Server Take 2003 as an example, share and modify the setting method of 3389 port:

1、 Enter the registry

Start Run Input: regedit

2、 Modify the port settings on the server side (2 points in the registry need to be modified)

1. First place:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd\Tds\tcp]

The PortNumber value is 3389 by default. Select the decimal system and change it to the desired port (the range is 1024 to 65535, and cannot conflict), such as 6000, as shown in the following figure:

2. Second place:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp]

The PortNumber value is 3389 by default. Select the decimal system and change it to the desired port (the range is 1024 to 65535, and can't conflict), such as 6000,

3. Restart the system to make the settings take effect.

Note: The ports modified twice should be consistent.

In fact, only the second part can be modified.

In addition, the standard connection form at the second place is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Terminal Server WinStations ], which indicates a specific RDP TCP connection (there should be one or more RDP-TCP like subkeys, depending on how many RDP services you have established), and the PortNumber is also changed.
