Microsoft will spend $1 billion to build four new data centers in Dublin

Microsoft plans to invest 900 million euros (more than 1 billion dollars) to build four new data centers in Dublin, Ireland. The new data center will be located in the Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin Town, west of Dublin, and will create about 140 full-time jobs, which is expected to take three years to complete. Previously, Microsoft had a data center in the area.

"The equipment of these data centers was originally designed to meet the server needs of Microsoft's data centers built in 2007." "Since then, the demand for online services has doubled, and Microsoft Ireland needs to build additional data centers to meet the growing global service needs."

It is reported that Microsoft chose to establish a data center in Ireland because of its "suitable climate" and "strategic business considerations".

In addition, technology giants including Amazon, Apple, Google and Facebook also plan to establish data centers in the country.
