Microsoft will build a data center in Germany to prevent American spies

US server On January 16, it was reported that according to foreign media reports, Microsoft will establish a new data center in Germany, so that European customers can avoid data being monitored by the U.S. government. The data center will start operation at the end of 2016 and will be operated by T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.

Microsoft CEO Satya? Nadella said in Berlin on Wednesday morning: "These new data centers will enable customers to use Microsoft's cloud computing platform in Germany and ensure that a German company controls the data."

It is ironic that US technology companies are unable to protect customer data from excessive monitoring by the US government. This action of Microsoft may cause a chain reaction, and customers may soon put forward similar requirements to other cloud computing providers. The new data center will only be used to store the information of Microsoft customers in Europe, but customers need to pay higher fees.

This statement is the best proof of the tug of war between the US high-tech companies and the US government. Microsoft, Google and other American companies need to restore the trust of their users after the Prism Gate time, but they have to engage in a tug of war with the U.S. government, leading to the final decision to move the data out of the United States. At present, Microsoft is suing with the US government. The latter requested to access the email of an American citizen in Ireland, but Microsoft refused to hand over the data.
