The progress of the self built data center did not meet expectations, and the losses narrowed. Youkede released the 2022 performance forecast

A few days ago, Youkede, the first company in China's cloud computing, released an annual performance forecast for 2022. The company expects to achieve net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company of - 470 million yuan to - 430 million yuan in 2022. Compared with the same period last year, the loss will decrease by 163 million yuan to 203 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 26% to 32%; The net profit deducted from the non parent company was from - 490 million yuan to - 450 million yuan, and the loss would be reduced by 161 million yuan to 201 million yuan compared with the same period last year, with a year-on-year decrease of 25% to 31%.

As one of the first cloud manufacturers to build cross-border self built data centers, Youkede will include its Youkede data center project (Phase I and Phase II) located in Jining District, Ulanqab City as one of the fund-raising projects at the time of IPO in January 2020. The construction period of the project is four years, the investment amount is about 1.494 billion yuan, and the proposed investment is 1.010 billion yuan. The data center project in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, has a total of 5 phases, and is planned to be built for 7 years.

In December of the same year, Youkede launched a fixed increase of 2 billion yuan for the construction of Shanghai Qingpu Data Center Project (Phase I). The construction period of the project is 3 years, and the first phase will accommodate 3000 cabinets in total. However, according to the announcement, the fixed increase of 2 billion yuan is not ideal, and Youkede has only raised 699 million yuan, which is 35% of the expected amount.

Due to multiple factors, including the failure of fund-raising to meet expectations, as of the first half of 2022, the cumulative investment progress of the data center in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia (Phase I and Phase II) is only 46.50%, and the cumulative investment progress of the Qingpu data center is 40.83%. Compared with its expected construction period, the construction period of the two projects has passed 3/4 and 2/3 respectively, but the investment progress is less than half, None of them meet the schedule.

Announcement of Youkede Company

According to the record sheet of investor relations activities on January 9, 2023, Youkede Ulanchap Cloud Computing Center in Inner Mongolia plans to build 6000 cabinets, and only about 2000 cabinets are put into use at present. Qingpu Cloud Computing Center plans to have 3000 cabinets. At present, only 1000 6.6~8.8kW server cabinets are about to be put into use, and the listing rate is only about 30%.

With the rapid development of cloud computing, especially public cloud and hybrid cloud, self built data centers can obviously reduce the cost of renting data centers, and are easier to integrate resources and manage. However, as a long-term, asset heavy and large investment project, the data center may take some time if it wants to "return blood".

However, in my opinion, the "hardest" moment has passed. Since only one month this year, all local governments have issued corresponding policies to stimulate local economic recovery, and all industries have made progress. And digitalization has become a must for enterprises in all industries. At present, cloud computing technology is the core technical support in the process of enterprise digitalization, and the cloud computing market may break out in 2023.

On January 9 this year, at the open day activity held in Youkede Qingpu Cloud Base, Youkede signed cooperation agreements with many enterprises, including Mihayou, Shanghai Brain Tiger Technology Co., Ltd., etc.

At the same time, Youkede has also reached a new elastic expansion project cooperation with this core technology, which has previously reached strategic cooperation, and deployed new chip research and development business in Youkede's cloud base in Shanghai.

The Ulanchap Cloud Base, which was put into operation in 2021, has also introduced many customers including artificial intelligence, retail, finance and other industries.
