Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional festivals of the Chinese nation. It carries the Chinese nation's excellent qualities of diligence, loyalty, patriotism, love of peace, and has become a symbol of the Chinese national spirit.

However, as you know, there has been no custom of eating zongzi in Qianxian County and its surrounding counties in Shaanxi Province since ancient times. Nowadays, people here eat zongzi because of the influence of other regions after the reform and opening up.

The reason why people don't eat zongzi is not because there is no rice here. As we all know, the Qin State firmly controlled the Weishui River basin and the Chengdu Plain at that time. The Chengdu Plain is dominated by rice, and rice also grows along the Weishui River. Therefore, people in this area don't eat zongzi because of its unique and long-standing cultural heritage.
In the Warring States Period, Qianxian County was always part of the Qin Dynasty. It is located in the center of the territory of the Qin State. It is the area with the largest population density of the Qin State, and is also the main recruiting place for soldiers of the Qin State. In the late Warring States Period, the only threat to the State of Qin was the State of Chu. The State of Chu had repeatedly united with other countries to wage war against the State of Qin, which was regarded as the most threatening enemy by the State of Qin

In 278 BC, before the Dragon Boat Festival, General Bai Qi and Wang Jian of the State of Qin led troops south to defeat the capital of the State of Chu. Qu Yuan's political ideal was completely destroyed, and he was desperate for the future. Although he was determined to serve his country, he was unable to return to heaven. He had to commit suicide by throwing himself into the Miluo River in May of the same year

The good news that Wang Jian and Bai Qi had conquered the capital of the State of Chu, especially after the good news that Qu Yuan had jumped over the river was returned to the State of Qin, King Zhaoxiang of Qin was very happy, because it foreshadowed the unification of Qin and became unstoppable.

Haodang County (Qianxian County) had an official in the Qin Palace (at that time, the State of Qin had moved its capital from Queyang to Xianyang). He was very happy when he heard the news, because King Zhaoxiang of Qin had been in power for 56 years, and he basically used troops every day, 15 times for the State of Wei, 8 times for the State of Korea and Zhao, and 2 times for the State of Chu, which made the four neighbors breathless and annexed two-thirds of South Korea, One half of the State of Wei, one third of the State of Zhao, and one quarter of the State of Chu have made brilliant achievements. But all these are based on the extreme suffering of the people of the State of Qin. Despite the heavy taxes, every family has relatives who died on the battlefield, which is unbearable. The people know that there is a warlike Qu Yuan in the State of Chu. If Qu Yuan can die, the war will end sooner, They can live in peace

The messenger found an opportunity to return home that night and secretly told his family the good news. His mother, wife and children were very happy. They all cheered and congratulated Qu Yuan for jumping into the river. The messenger also had a sister who was married and worried about the war every day. Seeing the wheat harvest coming, he was afraid that the war would become more and more serious. He was afraid that the people of the State of Chu would fight against the State of Qin, and he was in constant fear. In order to reassure her daughter about the crops, the mother, after discussing with her son and daughter-in-law, decided to ask her mother to go to her sister's house the next morning and tell her the news quietly. That night, the mother and daughter-in-law used the superior wheat flour that they usually hated to eat to bake the pastries used only for festival sacrifices, and turned their hatred of war into hatred of Qu Yuan, which was released to the pastries they made (demonizing Qu Yuan). Considering the little grandson's loveliness and mischief, the mother made some of the pastries hollow so that the grandson could wear them on his wrist and eat while playing. She also made this steamed bun into various strange patterns, and secretly named it "Qu Yuan steamed bun", so that the grandson could eat it, indicating that Qu Yuan died, all demons would die, and all disasters would disappear, Life was peaceful and happy from then on. Because a few days later, it will be the midsummer season of wheat harvesting in Guanzhong. The weather is very hot. My aunt is worried that my nephew will expose his belly button and hurt his stomach when he takes off his clothes. She made two belly wraps (pockets) overnight. My uncle hurriedly climbed up the apricot tree at the door of the house and picked a bunch of wheat apricots for my nephew. The next day, just before dawn, Grandma went to her daughter's house with a basket (people in Qianxian County call it a delivery cage) containing the Toto steamed bun and Quyuan steamed bun made with the best wheat flour last night, and the wheat apricot on the top, and the belly wrap made by my aunt on the top.

Grandma went out so early and was in a hurry. The early neighbors in the village asked her what she was going to do?
"Send it to my grandson," Grandma answered casually.
Unexpectedly, it was Grandma's casual answer that made the Dragon Boat Festival culture in Qianxian County last for more than 2000 years - before the Dragon Boat Festival, she gave her grandson and nephew a wrapped belly and Quyuan steamed bun. This custom is still popular today, and has become a particularly important etiquette festival for grandmother to visit and love their grandchildren in this area.

Later, people considered that the period of wheat harvesting and corn planting was busy and long, so they took advantage of the days before and after the Dragon Boat Festival to send their grandmother or aunt to their daughter's or nephew's house to see how the wheat was growing and what difficulties existed before harvest. Then they sent their nephew under the age of 12 with wrapped belly, Qu Yuan steamed buns, fragrant buds, and special five color flower ropes. There is a local folk custom. Children become adults when they are twelve years old. They can no longer be naked in summer, so they don't wear belly wrapping.
The custom of sending Qu Yuan steamed buns has been integrated into more cultures after more than 2000 years of performance. She includes her grandmother's infinite love for her grandson. She hopes that her grandson can grow up healthily, free from evil spirits, ghosts, ghosts, gods, diseases, good luck, peace and security, and become a person and promising as soon as possible. At the same time, there is also a certain scientific truth, because in the lunar May, the weather is hot, the number of mosquitoes, flies and poisonous snakes is increasing, the activities are frequent, and the number of infectious diseases is increasing. There are various herbs in the incense bud, which are worn in front of the chest, the fragrance is strong, and the invasion of poisonous insects is prevented, which can enlighten the efficacy of detoxification and evil prevention, and become a symbol of life preservation and auspiciousness.

At present, the folk custom in Qianxian County is still continuing. You may meet someone who sells Quyuan steamed buns when you go to Qianxian County before the Dragon Boat Festival. However, due to the evolution of thousands of years and the local dialect of Shaanxi, most people now call Quyuan steamed buns "Qulian steamed buns", and some people call her "Dragon Boat steamed buns" stiffly.

For people in Qianxian County, Qu Yuan's steamed bun is a symbol of childhood happiness, deep feelings for grandma, and deep nostalgia
The difference between Qianxian people and outsiders is that their grandmother sent Qu Yuan's steamed buns to celebrate Qu Yuan's death by jumping across the river. The Dragon Boat Festival is a celebration, a happy festival, not something that Yang Guangyu said could not be celebrated or wished each other happiness. Outsiders eat zongzi to commemorate Qu Yuan's death by jumping into the river, to remember and respect Qu Yuan, and to feel sad. The common thing is that they are all to show a broad sense of patriotism

Qu Yuan's patriotism is great, admirable and everlasting. However, Qu Yuan only loved Chu, a small vassal state in the Warring States Period, which was different from Wen Tianxiang's patriotism. Why does commemorating Qu Yuan's patriotism become a custom in most parts of the country? The Chinese sympathized with the weak since ancient times. After the Qin Dynasty swept the Six Harmonies, the six countries died, but the nobility did not die. They expressed their unwillingness through the death of Qu Yuan, a doctor of the State of Chu, and publicized to their former subjects the spirit that they would rather die than be loyal to their own country. They dreamed of restoring their country one day and continuing the life of their rulers. The former six countries accounted for the vast majority in terms of population and territory, so this custom has been carried forward, spread and passed down in the folk dominated way. However, in the old place of Qin Dynasty, the custom of celebrating Qu Yuan's jumping into the river on the Dragon Boat Festival has been continued, but in a small scope. Some areas that should have been celebrated have become commemorative due to the invasion of foreign cultures. Areas that should be celebrated include but are not limited to: most of Shaanxi, most of Gansu, the whole of Ningxia, part of Xinjiang, part of Qinghai, the area from Chengdu Plain in Sichuan to the Qinling Mountains, most of Shanxi, Yunxi in Hubei, west of Luoyang in Henan, part of Inner Mongolia, etc. These are the territory of Qin when Qu Yuan jumped the river, which belongs to the celebration. Now many of them are assimilated by the culture of the Dragon Boat Festival of Chu.
As the source of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation, the Qin Dragon Boat Festival culture should not only be discarded, but also be treasured, publicized, carried forward and expanded.
I hope that some so-called experts who do not fully understand the splendid culture of the Chinese nation will not be self righteous, and will not mislead or bury them
