Create a one-year Amazon Cloud RDS database process for free and manage it with Navicat client

Some of our cloud businesses do not need cloud servers, but need cloud databases. After all, building databases with cloud servers requires technology and operation and maintenance costs. Lao Zuo prefers cloud databases. In this article, we introduce the free RDS database provided by Amazon cloud service provider, which is eligible for one year free use. A managed relational database service applicable to MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle BYOL, or SQL Server.

Amazon Cloud provides a 12 month free database for new customers to register. This includes 750 hours of db.t2.micro database usage per month (applicable database engine). Here we can see that there are still many free experience products provided, after all, the strength is very strong. However, their products are more suitable for foreign trade business, and the speed of domestic Chinese business is average. Later, they should also launch products in China. I see that some products are being debugged.

There are still many Amazon cloud products. It's really hard to find them directly. Search RDS here to find the cloud database shown in the above figure.

If you need a cloud database in a specific region, you can switch the machine room in the upper right corner first. Select the machine room we need. Here Lao Zuo chooses the data center in Seoul, South Korea.

Prepare to create database.

Select the database type and database version. What I want here is the remote database used to call projects remotely. We don't need to cooperate with EC2 server later.

Then we can choose a free package to create database users and passwords.

Then we choose the database type, which is actually the hardware parameters of the database, including our storage type. Normally, we can default it first, and then adjust it later.

Here we choose whether to connect to the EC2 server or our separate database, and whether the database is private or public. Here I want to make it public for use. Only then can I connect to remote clients. For the security group, we create a new security group, and then we can adjust the port by ourselves. By default, 3306 is on.

After creation, wait a few minutes. After entering the database, we can check the database information in the upper right corner, including the connection address, user name and password.

If we need regular backup, we can also use snapshot backup. Here I use the Navicat database management client to remotely connect to the database.

It's OK, so I can use this for free Amazon Cloud Database 。 This configuration is sufficient for general use.
