Xiaosheng has a Linode VPS host on my side. He hopes to enable the snapshot backup function because he is worried about system errors caused by operational errors. If we have friends who have used the Linode VPS host, we should know that the price of this vendor's machine is really good, but the speed has not kept up with our user needs. Only JP1, which was available at the beginning, could not be opened, and the speed of other computer rooms could not meet the needs of Chinese website projects. It was really slow at night.
If you need to start the backup service provided by the Linode VPS, you need to pay a fee of $2.5 per month. You can set automatic backup and manual snapshot backup, and you can back up four nodes. This is really a bit tight. The paid backup service supports 7 days or half a month. Four nodes are not enough.
First, start the backup service
Here, Laozuo needs to say in advance that the backup service needs to be paid. You can click to activate it directly, but if you need to close it, you have to ask the customer service to submit a work order and manually close it.
Log in to the current VPS host panel, find backups, and then click Enable backups for this Linode if you need to open them. They can be opened, but you can't close them yourself. You have to find customer service.
Second, set the backup scheme
Here we can set automatic backup and manual snapshot backup. Automatic backup can backup three nodes, and snapshot backup is one node. That is to say, if you repeat the snapshot backup, the previous backup point will be replaced. (Too few resources are given)
Similarly, after the backup is completed, we need to restore the data directly by clicking the backup point. The cost of automatic backup is not too high. For those who do not like their own backup or are afraid of misoperation when operating the system, snapshot backup can be used, just in case.
