Shopify store supports credit card, debit card, account balance, PayPal and other payment methods, and sellers can view bill details in the billing settings in the back of the store. Shopify fees mainly include subscription fees, shipping label fees, transaction fees, domain name template and one-time application fees, taxes, etc.
1. Package fees and charges
Basic Shopify, Shopify, and Advanced Shopify pricing packages have a variety of rates and fees, such as monthly prices, credit card fees, and third-party transaction fees. Depending on your location, your subscription will be settled in one of the following currencies: EUR, GBP, USD, INR.
2. Monthly price
The monthly price is the regular subscription fee for Shopify, which varies according to the package you choose. The price related to the package you selected is included in the bill issued at the end of the assigned billing cycle.
If you register for a one-year, two-year or three-year billing cycle, you can get a discount on your subscription fees.
3. Credit card service charge
Shopify will charge you a small fee so that you can accept mainstream credit cards (such as Visa and Mastercard) as your store's payment method. You do not have to pay any fees to the credit card payment service provider. Due to the different security and risk between online payment and face-to-face payment, these fees may vary depending on online payment or payment through Shopify POS. The credit card fee depends on the selected package.
Due to Brexit, Visa and Mastercard have changed their classification and charging methods for UK and EU transactions. To accommodate these changes, Shopify has classified these transactions as international and you will be required to pay the current international rate in your region.
4. Third party transaction fee
The third party transaction fee is the fee paid for each transaction when you use the third party payment service provider to collect payment from customers. The transaction fee includes the integration fee of Shopify and external payment service providers, and the fee varies according to the package you choose.
When using Shopify Payments, you do not need to pay third-party transaction fees for orders processed through Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Shop Pay Instalments, and Paypal Express, nor do you need to pay transaction fees for manual payment methods (such as cash, COD, and bank transfer).
Shopify Plus merchants using Shopify Payments do not have to pay any transaction fees, except those located in Austria, Belgium and Sweden.
5. Payment Service Provider
The service provided by the payment service provider can transfer your customers' funds to you. A credit card payment service provider allows your customers to pay with a credit card. If you want to accept customers to pay by credit card, you can set up Shopify Payments or a third-party payment service provider.
6. Billing period
The billing cycle is a 30 day interval for Shopify to charge package fees. You cannot choose a charging date, but you can extend the billing cycle to a longer interval (one year, two years, or three years) to get a discount.
Application subscriptions use different billing cycles, so their billing cycles may not always match the billing date of the Shopify subscription billing cycle. If you want to suspend or disable your store, be sure to also cancel the app subscription to avoid additional charges in the future.
