Among domestic cloud computing service providers, many of our personal webmasters know more about Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Baidu Cloud and other businesses. However, many host companies have been facing government and enterprise user groups, and we may not know much personally. For example, UCloud merchants were founded in 2012, and the core team members are also from well-known Internet companies such as Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, Amazon, etc. In the last two years, we have begun to explore the user groups of individuals and SMEs, and we will see a series of promotional activities launched more frequently.
Lao Zuo also introduced the nationwide cloud computing activities of UCloud merchants in his previous blog posts. From the feedback information, many users have chosen and tried to use it. At present, UCloud merchants have more than 20 data centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Moscow, Tokyo, etc., covering five continents around the world. It can be seen that the merchants are also interested in opening the sea going business.
At the same time of domestic computer room node competition and user groups, domestic mainstream businesses are also ready to seize the overseas market share. In the previous article, Lao Zuo shared the evaluation information of UCloud vendors' computer rooms in Hong Kong. Because for Hong Kong, most domestic user projects will have choices, after all, to avoid some policy reasons. In this article, Lao Zuo is going to have a look at the Vietnamese computer room of UCloud merchants.
First, UCloud Vietnam VM configuration
UCloud Vietnam machine room is located in Ho Chi Minh City. The configuration is similar to other data centers. Basic 1 core, 1GB memory and 20GB default system disk are selected. If the billing mode is based on bandwidth, the minimum bandwidth is 1M. Or we can set the bandwidth size according to the traffic billing mode.
This needs to be selected according to our actual project. If the bandwidth is insufficient in the future, you can also directly upgrade online. This general ECS vendor will have the basic functions provided. Therefore, Laozuo suggested that any host company should not choose too high configuration at the initial stage of the project.
Second, UCloud Vietnam VM evaluation
In this article, Lao Zuo chose the basic 1C/1G/1M bandwidth scheme for testing.
1. PING speed test
A – Domestic nodes
Here we can see that among the domestic nodes, the mobile node is the fastest. The local operators in Vietnam should have access to the mobile network. In addition, the cooperation between UCloud and China Mobile makes the quality of the return lines very good. The speed of Unicom is also very good. The speed of mobile and Unicom nodes is relatively good. However, the telecom nodes are not very good. The telecom nodes should be bypassed. In contrast, the speed of telecom is relatively ordinary. It should be a sub optimal path problem of BGP lines. We will look at the routing trace later. It is possible that the Vietnamese node computer room launched by merchants is mainly aimed at the Vietnamese or South Asian business user groups.
B – PING speed of three random Vietnam nodes
Here, 1 node is randomly selected in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi City for testing.
We can see that the speed for Vietnam is relatively good.
2. Route Tracking Reference
The main user sharing of UCloud merchants' Vietnamese computer room is aimed at the foreign trade needs of Vietnamese and non Chinese local business groups. So Lao Zuo is going to test several Vietnamese nodes on the route.

3. MTR test performance
What is MTR? Mtr is a network diagnostic tool that combines the functions of "traceroute" and "ping" programs.

3. Configuration, IO read-write capability
At present, Laozuo's test machine is the basic solution. If our users can upgrade and expand in the future according to the project. It is recommended to use a mount disk for hard disk deployment. It can be seen that the mainstream KVM architecture is adopted, and Linux and Windows systems can be selected.
Third, summary of UCloud Vietnam computer room
1. From the price point of view, Vietnam's ECS starts at 65 yuan/month+30 yuan/month IP, which is lower than the cost of Hong Kong's computer room. The UCLOUD Vietnam machine room has excellent lines for Vietnam, which is suitable for our users to use in Vietnam or Asia.
2. UCloud Vietnam machine room can choose fixed bandwidth or pay by traffic mode like other machine rooms. This needs to be selected according to our actual project operation, and can be expanded later according to business requirements.
