An Incident

The gas stove is out of order.

The symptoms are: unable to fire.

It has been three years since I moved to my new house. I occasionally cooked to improve my food. During the holiday, I suddenly couldn't catch fire. At that time, the beef and ribs were soaked in blood, so I waited for the boiling water to be put into the ceramic stew just bought to blend water with fire, and then the fire went out. The switch button of the gas stove popped and sparkled, but there was no fire. I was deep in thought: Why was there no fire? I asked myself that the answer must not be on the riddle. I searched on the twitter for the reason why the gas stove could not be ignited. I followed the video to check the height of the igniter, the carbon deposit on the inner ring fire cover, and the size of the damper, but it did not work.

When a person fails completely, he will look for a way out, and I started logical deduction:

First of all, the gas stove has two stoves, and I usually use the stove at different frequencies. If one stove breaks down, it is impossible that the other stove also breaks down at the same time. So my previous adjustment to the video should be in vain. In fact, there are only two reasons why both stoves can't be lit at the same time: one is that there is no gas, the other is that there is no electricity.

Then I checked the on-off valve of the gas and found that there was no problem. I also checked the use of the gas water heater and found that it was burning normally, indicating that there was no problem with the gas. The only thing left may be that the battery under the gas stove is out of power. But when I press the ignition knob, I can see the blue arc light on the ignition head, which misleads me. I opened the cabinet door and removed two 1.5V batteries under the gas stove. It is unreasonable for such two big batteries to rebel after three years?

But it is mutinous. I thought that the role of this battery was to supply electrons to the ignition head, just like a lighter. I didn't expect that this battery would also provide power for the solenoid valve under the gas stove. This is what I learned later from the structural diagram of the gas stove. But on that day, there was only one reason for uncertainty. Although I was not sure, this was the only reason left, So I bought two new batteries and installed them. OK!

The joy of repairing small appliances is the same as the last time I poked open the sewer with a hand to dredge the hose.

After all, it saved hundreds
