The whole workshop was filled with a strong smell of beans.

According to Hu Xiaoming, the founder of the Shuinan Yuzhu Base of Hu Yazi, Shuinan Yuzhu started from the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of more than 700 years. Shuinan Yuzhu is also known as the "No. 1 Bamboo", because Liu Yan, one of the "Five Li and Three No. 1 Scholars" in Shuinan in the Ming Dynasty, likes to eat Shuinan Yuzhu.

In 2014, Hu Xiaoming returned home from Guangdong and devoted himself to the bean curd industry in Shuinan. "We grew up eating water and always remember the taste of yuba when we started our business abroad. Later, we simply returned to our hometown to start the yuba industry and develop a yuba production line with both export and production capacity."

It is understood that since the operation of Hu Yazi Shuinan Yuzhu Base, the annual output of Yuzhu has exceeded 1.2 million jin, accounting for half of the output of Shuinan Yuzhu, which has not only solved the employment problem of more than 50 local villagers, but also brought a total of 704200 yuan of annual dividends to 17 village collectives and 382 poor households. In addition, "Hu Yazi" Shuinan Yuzhu was also awarded the gold medal for high-quality agricultural products at 2018 China Shenzhen International Modern Green Agriculture Expo, and one of the top 100 brands in 2019 national characteristic industries.

The development and expansion of the beancurd base not only promoted Shuinan beancurd to embark on the road of brand development, but also led local people to increase their income at home. Xiao Zixiang, a villager, works in the Yuzhu Base. She smiled and said to the reporter, "Our daily salary is about 100 yuan, and it is very close to home. It is convenient to take care of children and the elderly."
