Chinese enterprises contracted to build the first centralized wind power project in Bangladesh for grid connected power generation

Beijing, October 16 (Reporter Xu Peiyu) The reporter learned from the commissioning ceremony of Bangladesh Cox's Bazar Wind Power Project held recently in Beijing that the first centralized wind power project in Bangladesh, the Cox's Bazar Wind Power Project, which was invested and developed by National Power Investment Wuling Power, was recently connected to the grid for power generation. The project is located in Cox's Bazar, a city in the southeast of Bangladesh. It will start construction in September 2021, with an installed capacity of 66 MW and a total of 22 wind turbines.

After the project is connected to the grid for power generation, it can provide more than 145 million kilowatt hours of green power every year, reduce 44600 tons of coal consumption, reduce 109200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and meet the power demand of 100000 households. During the construction of the project, more than 1500 jobs will be provided for the local people. (People's Daily Overseas Edition)
