Meet Fujian: "Queen of Mushrooms" Golden Bamboo Fungus Appears in Yong'an Deep Mountain

Sanming, October 17 (Huang Zhongquan, Liao Jinpeng) Recently, under a broad leaved forest in Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve, Yong'an, Fujian Province, large-scale fungal investigators found a golden bamboo fungus, like a "mushroom cool" in a gorgeous autumn skirt hidden in a boudoir, and a cluster of suspected orchids nearby, "beautiful and attractive".

In the shooting record, the staff found another similar bamboo fungus a few meters away. After consulting with experts in the study of bamboo fungus groups, we learned that these two golden colored bamboo fungus, called "golden yellow bamboo fungus" in Chinese, are new species of bamboo fungus published in 2022, and the type specimen is from Yunnan.

The golden bamboo fungus usually has a white or yellow net skirt spread from the cap down. According to the color of the net skirt, it is also called "yellow skirt fairy" or "snow skirt fairy"; Because of its bright colors, rich fragrance and delicious taste, it is often called "Queen of Mushrooms"; It can be divided into two categories: edible and toxic, and generally grows under broad-leaved forests or bamboo forests.

According to the staff of Yong'an Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve, this year, Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve has taken and recorded a large number of physical photos of large fungi and collected some specimens during the investigation of large fungi.

Through preliminary identification, the first batch of investigation results have 266 species of macrofungi in 9 major groups, of which 163 species are newly recorded in Tianbaoyan Nature Reserve, including Jiangxi Cordyceps, Osmanthus fragrans and other fungi, fully demonstrating the rich and diverse resources of macrofungi in Tianbaoyan Nature Reserve.
