Face to face event between Young Pioneers and Manned Space was held in Beijing

From October 15 to 16, 2003, astronaut Yang Liwei took the Shenzhou V manned spaceship into space and landed safely. China became the third country in the world to independently carry out manned space activities. In order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the success of China's first manned flight mission, and to inherit and carry forward the spirit of manned space flight and the spirit of scientists, yesterday (October 16), the National Youth Working Committee hosted the Young Pioneers' Face to Face Team Day event with the theme of "Looking Back at the Flying Path and Pursuing a Dream" in Beijing.

At the event, Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut, Qi Faren, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief designer of manned spacecraft system, exchanged and shared stories about flying, popular science and aerospace knowledge with students, and helped children understand the development of manned spaceflight in China. Pursue dreams and stars, and look forward to the future. Yang Liwei sent a message to the majority of young people to develop in an all-round way, looking forward to everyone joining the aerospace industry. Young Pioneers also launched their space dreams by participating in the assembly and production of space models, visiting space model exhibitions and other experience activities.

Yang Liwei, Deputy Chief Designer of China's Manned Space Program: This year, our manned moon landing project has also been established. For example, some basic key technologies such as high thrust rockets, new spacecraft, and moon landing suits are being done in the early stage. It is planned to send Chinese people to the moon by 2030. Through popular science education, let them be interested in science and technology and aerospace knowledge, awaken their innovation and creativity, and spread their wings of freedom.

Sun Qiyuan, a student at the Experimental Branch of Beijing Huangchenggen Primary School, said: I particularly want to know whether our children can fly into space. When I grow up, I want to become an astronaut or a scientist and travel in space.

Wang Yiran, a student of Tianning Temple Branch of Beijing Primary School, said that after learning the story of space heroes and the development of the country's space industry, I will work hard to learn scientific knowledge and go to space to explore the endless universe by taking my own rocket.
