Shanxi is a province with large characteristic agricultural resources and a famous kingdom of small grains. More mountains and less land, diversified landforms and diverse climates are the basic characteristics, while less rain and water, drought and cold are natural attributes.

Dongzhang Village, a beautiful village with towering mountains and beautiful scenery, was included in the first batch of national forest villages. "Our village is basically mountainous and hilly." Song Shuwen, the head of Jiuhe Farm in the village, said that in recent years, the local government has developed rural health care and leisure tourism in accordance with local conditions, and has developed organic dry farming in the mode of "company+cooperative+farmer" to increase farmers' income and agricultural efficiency.

In 2018, Dongzhang Village invested hundreds of thousands of yuan to transfer land from the villagers and plant rape flowers along the hills, attracting a large number of tourists and driving the development of local tourism.
