The first month of the Beijing school bus pilot project shows initial results, and strives to gradually promote it in the spring semester next year

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (China News Network) -- In order to solve the "pain point" of parents picking up and sending children to and from school, since Beijing launched the pilot service of school buses on September 1, the number of three and four wheeled cars picking up students at the school gate has decreased by 14.5%, and the number of cars picking up students has decreased by 7.4%. The average traffic index is 5.03, which is at the level of "mild congestion". The punctuality rate of vehicle operation is 100%, and the pilot effect is beginning to show.

 

Since September 1, Beijing has launched the pilot service of school bus. The route planning and station design were carried out in accordance with the principle of "one district, one policy", "one school, one policy" and "one line, one scheme". Finally, 13 schools in four districts were selected to carry out pilot projects. The first batch of 25 school bus lines were put into trial operation on September 1, with 97 school bus stops. The transportation, education, traffic management, pilot area and other parties cooperate with each other, with heart, emotion and effort, to fully ensure the safe operation of the school bus, and to provide students and parents with a new choice of safe, comfortable and reassuring school bus.

According to the monitoring, since the beginning of school, the traffic order around the pilot school has been improved, and the traffic congestion during the peak hours of school attendance has been alleviated. Compared with that before the test run of the school bus, the number of three and four wheeled cars to pick up students at the school gate decreased by 14.5%, and the number of cars to pick up students decreased by 7.4%. Since September 1, the staff of transportation, education, public security and traffic control departments have sunk into communities, schools and line stations to take the bus with parents and students to investigate and solve problems in operation at any time.

For example, optimize the complicated boarding and alighting process reported by passengers, quickly verify, uniformly sign in, and improve the riding experience and school efficiency. The stewards and volunteers pay close attention to the students' situation in the carriage, and help solve problems in a timely manner. Before getting on and after getting off the bus, the police, teachers, security guards and volunteers in front of the school maintain order on the scene. Build a high standard operation monitoring and dispatching platform, and launch it on the Beijing government affairs service Jingtong mobile terminal to realize real-time dispatching and supervision of the school bus operation. Government departments, schools, operating enterprises and parents can query the status of vehicle operation, students' riding, etc. through the platform or mobile terminal. The public security and traffic management departments set up "school protection posts" around the operation nodes, innovatively planned the "Tongxue Road", and fully escorted the school buses. Since the beginning of school, there have been "zero accidents" and "zero failures" in the operation of general vehicles.

Beijing actively builds a culture of school buses, extending school education to carriages. Students take the initiative to say hello to the carriage staff when getting on and off the train. The school posts knowledge posters in the carriages, plays videos and audio with educational significance to stimulate learning interest, and creates micro classrooms for students to get up in the morning and return at night.

Since the school bus has been running for a month, it has been widely welcomed by students and parents. According to the on-site survey feedback, 95% of the students and parents think that the facilities in the car are safe, comfortable, convenient and punctual; 94% of the students and their parents think that the school bus is safe to drive; 75% of the students can reach the bus stop from home within 8 minutes, and think that the design of the bus stop is reasonable. After the launch of the first batch of pilot schools and routes, the attraction of school buses continues to increase. Parents of Qinghe Branch of Tsinghua Attached Primary School, Jiaming Branch of Chen Jinglun Middle School and other schools put forward demands, and the district government responded quickly. Together with relevant departments, the district government carried out line survey and site design, and opened 5 new lines. So far, 28 lines have been opened, and 16 pilot schools have been opened, The daily average number of passengers increased from 1599 to 3300, and 70 school buses were put into use.

The Beijing Transport Department said that in the next step, relevant departments will continue to track and evaluate, and constantly optimize and improve the safety and service level of school buses. Respond to the concerns of parents and schools in a timely manner, improve carriage services and increase "point-to-point" lines by optimizing the layout of lines and stations to better meet the needs of parents and students. At the same time, on the basis of summing up the experience of the school bus pilot, actively prepare to open new lines, and strive to gradually promote the opening of the spring semester next year in a wider range, so that more parents and students benefit.
