The average age of the consulting and evaluation team led by Kong Fanrong is about 34 years old. He often lets young people rush ahead to exercise their ability to be independent. The team has helped manufacturing enterprises to carry out digital transformation since 2021. In 2022, Shanghai Computer Software Technology Development Center was listed as a municipal expert service base in Shanghai. The team has served more than 200 manufacturing enterprises by virtue of its professional service ability and relying on the expert resources in various fields integrated by the base, There are also enterprises in other places in the Yangtze River Delta.

According to the Implementation Plan of Digital Transformation of Shanghai's Manufacturing Industry, Shanghai's main goals are: by 2025, the digital diagnosis of manufacturing enterprises above the designated size will be fully covered, and the proportion of digital transformation will not be less than 80%; The scale of the city's industrial Internet core industry reached 200 billion yuan.

When interviewed, Kong Fanrong said that the digital transformation characteristics of large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises are different. The digital transformation of large enterprises has already been planned, and the main problem is to find and solve the weaknesses. "This is like the barrel theory. If the weaknesses of the shortest board are not improved, the overall level is difficult to improve," he said.

However, small and medium-sized enterprises do not have a complete methodology and dare not try digital transformation without knowing how to do it. What Kong Fanrong's team needs to do is to provide a solution so that enterprises can carry out digital transformation at a low cost. "Let these small and medium-sized enterprises first" break the ice digitally ", and then make small steps to see the benefits of digital transformation, so that enterprises will dare to invest in this area." Kong Fanrong said.

It is a very hard job to evaluate and coach enterprises in the process of digital transformation. Manufacturing enterprises have a wide range of industries and have high requirements for the professionalism of appraisers. It is necessary for appraisers to go deep into the factory for research, pinpoint the pain points and difficulties of enterprises in the process of transformation, communicate with enterprise personnel and sort out plans, so as to ultimately help enterprises solve problems and improve their digital capabilities.

In Kong Rongrong's view, the team is like a "general practitioner" of intelligent manufacturing. Only by understanding the industry can we carry out "general practitioner services".

Even with professionalism, it is not easy for "general practitioners" to be recognized. Huang Yan, deputy director of the Industrial Intelligence Technology Research Institute of Shanghai Computer Software Technology Development Center, one of the members of Kong Fanrong's team, said that sometimes the team experts can't get support when they go to the enterprise for evaluation, "Some enterprises will think that they have done a good job and do not need guidance. We have gradually gained recognition from enterprises through our professional technology and patient communication."

The "digital road" is long, and these "instructors" on China's digital transformation have a lot of work to do. However, looking back at the development history of Shanghai Computer Software Technology Development Center, from the early days of its establishment in 1984, the older generation has "crossed the river by feeling the stones" and achieved many pioneering achievements.
