Recently, Ms. Liu was upset because her 2-year-old baby accidentally knocked over the water bottle while playing at home, which caused burns on the neck and chest. According to the doctor, the neck may also have scars. Remembering the pain that the baby is suffering now and the scar that may be left in the future, Ms. Liu regrets that she did not take good care of her baby.

Since winter, children's burns have increased significantly, which may be related to the increase of heat sources such as stoves, hot water (bottles), and poor management. Therefore, in cold weather, measures should be taken to prevent children from scalding.

Properly manage the containers containing boiled water such as heat source thermos bottles, and keep them out of the reach of children; Hot soup and boiled water shall not be placed beside children during meals; The stoves burning coal or firewood shall be equipped with fire grills to prevent children from contacting the fire source. When using electric stoves, adults must turn off the electricity to stop the fire when leaving; Don't let children play with fire.

Strengthen child care The care of children must be "let go and not look", especially for children aged 1-3 years old, who have just learned to walk but still can't walk steadily, are very curious about everything, but do not know the danger, and their activities should not be out of the sight of adults.

Timely and correctly handle scalded children In case of burns or scalds, the first measure is local cooling, which is called cold water therapy: continue to wash with cold water for about 15-30 minutes, if the pain is still serious, you can extend the washing time until there is no pain and heat feeling, then gently cover the burned (scalded) part with clean gauze or towel, and send it to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
