It is understood that the revised management method simplifies the qualification conditions setting, cancels the preconditions such as post certificates, registered capital, fixed assets, instruments and equipment, and no longer links the assessment scope and grade of environmental assessment institutions with the approval level of environmental protection departments.Cheng Lifeng, Director of the Department of Environmental Impact Assessment of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, said that in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the measures, the Ministry of Environmental Protection would also print and distribute six supporting documents, making specific provisions on the qualification transition of existing EIA institutions, application of assessment scope and category, division of business fields of Class A EIA institutions, requirements for qualification application materials, requirements for relevant formats of EIA documents, and management of EIA engineers.
