   Diagnosis method of allergy

Allergic diagnosis includes skin prick test and blood immunoglobulin E (IgE) detection. Skin prick test and blood immunoglobulin E test are both routine tests for IgE mediated allergens, but their testing mechanisms are different.

   (a) Skin prick test

Skin prick test is to prick the allergen reagent into the pricked epidermis to observe the reaction. If you have taken anti allergy drugs before the test, it will inevitably affect the test results.

1。 Mark the name of the pricking solution used in the middle of the left arm.

2。 Drop various pricking liquid from bottom to top.

3。 Puncture the skin by gently pressing with a sterile prick needle.

4.30 minutes later, observe and record the skin reaction.

5。 The result shows that the positive is allergic constitution.

   (b) Food avoidance

Both skin prick test and blood immunoglobulin E test are aimed at IgE mediated acute allergy, allergy and non IgE mediated chronic allergy. A positive allergen test indicates that there must be allergies, but a negative test does not mean that there is no allergy. Therefore, children's actual reaction to food or environment in life

Allergens should be determined.

When allergy is suspected, remove the suspected food or stay away from the suspected environment. If the symptoms obviously improve, consciously contact the suspected food or environment again; If the allergy symptom reappears, it can be confirmed as allergy. If parents can't make accurate judgments, they can consult a doctor.

   Doctor Liang's key reminder

Food avoidance+skin prick test is a common method for diagnosing allergy, and blood test is only an auxiliary means. Never use allergen test results as the basis for children's diet selection.

(c) Blood test

The detection of blood IgE is direct and not affected by drugs. However, only when the blood immunoglobulin E reaches a certain concentration in the body can it be detected. Therefore, it is often the anaphylactic symptoms before the IgE positive test results, so for infants within 1 year old or with anaphylactic symptoms less than 6 months old, the blood IgE test may not be positive.
