Some parents think it is difficult to give medicine to their children, so they use antipyretic suppository once their children have fever, which is convenient and has little side effects. It should be reminded that antipyretic suppository should not be used in children with bad intestinal tract.

There is no significant difference in the effect between oral dosage form and anal suppository, and the side effects are similar. Suppositories are a stimulus to rectal mucosa, especially for children who usually have poor intestinal function or have fever accompanied by diarrhea and other gastrointestinal manifestations, suppositories should not be used to reduce fever, otherwise they will further stimulate the intestinal tract, aggravate diarrhea and reduce the effect of antipyretic.

In addition, antipyretic suppositories are mostly fixed doses, which is not conducive to accurate administration of drugs for weight. Only when children cannot take drugs orally due to nausea, vomiting, crying and other reasons will suppositories be used instead.

It should be noted that antipyretic drugs are generally required when the body temperature exceeds 38.5 ℃. Generally, it is recommended to drink more water, scrub with warm water and other physical methods to cool down.
