From the monthly data, the growth rate of electricity consumption in the secondary industry in June, July, August and September was 2.3%, 5.7%, 7.6% and 8.7% respectively, showing an increasing trend month by month. Lin Boqiang, president of the China Energy Policy Research Institute of Xiamen University, said in an interview with the China Securities Journal that the electricity consumption data of the whole society in September was gratifying. Among them, the electricity consumption of the secondary industry increased by 8.7% year on year, reflecting that the production vitality of the manufacturing industry was significantly enhanced, and the economic recovery trend was clear.

From January to September, the total power consumption of the whole society was 6863.7 billion kWh, up 5.6% year on year. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 97.6 billion kWh, up 11.3% year on year; The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 4470.3 billion kWh, up 5.5% year on year; The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 1254.6 billion kWh, up 10.1% year on year; Domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1041.2 billion kWh, up 0.5% year on year.

Jiang Debin, deputy director of the Statistics and Data Center of China Electricity Council, said in an interview earlier that it is expected that the growth rate of power consumption in the second half of this year will further rebound from that in the first half of this year, achieving a medium to high speed growth.
