OPPO has become the number one mobile phone market in China, and has dumped Xiaomi

According to foreign media reports, IHS Research, a market research company, recently released a report that OPPO sold a record 22 million smartphones in the Chinese market in the third quarter, overtaking Huawei as the leader in the new market.

Samsung Electronics, Jinli, Meizu, LeTV and ZTE ranked sixth to tenth respectively, with sales of 9 million, 6 million, 6 million, 5 million and 3 million respectively, and market shares of 7%, 5%, 5%, 4% and 3% respectively.

According to previous reports released by IHS Research, Huawei's sales in the Chinese market reached 32.16 million units in the second quarter of this year, ranking first in the market. OPPO ranked second with 21.9 million units sold; Vivo ranked third with 16.41 million units sold; Xiaomi ranked fourth with sales of 15.22 million; ZTE ranked fifth with 13.7 million sales.

IHS Research expects that the sales volume of China's smartphone market will still grow slightly in the fourth quarter, but the growth rate will be slower than that in the third quarter.

IDC, another market research company, released the latest data on China's smartphone market in the third quarter last week, showing that OPPO and Vivo shipped 20.1 million and 19.2 million units respectively in the Chinese market in the quarter, with year-on-year growth of 106.1% and 101.1%, respectively, becoming the first runner up in the Chinese market, with market shares of 17.5% and 16.7%, respectively. Huawei ranked third with 18 million units shipped, a year-on-year increase of 5.1% and a market share of 15.7%. Xiaomi ranked fourth, with 10 million units shipped, a year-on-year decline of 42.3% and a market share of 8.7%. Apple ranked fifth with 8.2 million units shipped, down 34.1% year on year, and its market share was 7.1%.

In the global market, smartphone shipments in the third quarter were 362.9 million, up 1% year on year. This was the first time that smartphone shipments rose slightly since the sales of two consecutive quarters were flat. Among them, Samsung Electronics has shipped 72.5 million mobile phones, still the highest among all brands, with a market share of 20%. The sales volume of Apple mobile phones is 45.5 million, with a market share of 12.5%, ranking second. Huawei's mobile phone shipments were 33.6 million units, with a market share of 9.3%, ranking third. OPPO and Vivo ranked fourth and fifth respectively, with 25.3 million and 21.2 million units shipped, respectively, and their market shares were 7.0% and 5.8%.
