The Information Office of the State Council is scheduled to hold a press conference at 10:00 a.m. on February 3, 2015 (Tuesday) in the press release hall of the Information Office of the State Council. Chen Xiwen, deputy leader and director of the Central Leading Group for Rural Work, and Han Jun, deputy director of the Central Leading Group for Rural Work, will be invited to interpret Several Opinions on Strengthening Reform and Innovation and Accelerating the Construction of Agricultural Modernization I also answered questions from reporters.

Bloomberg News: Can you talk about the policy and specific work direction of GM this year?

Han Jun: The transgenic crops that China has approved for commercial planting are mainly cotton and papaya. Now cotton is basically genetically modified. At the same time, we have approved the import of some foreign genetically modified agricultural products, mainly soybeans, including rapeseed, cotton, corn, and mainly soybeans. Last year, we imported more than 71 million tons of soybeans, most of which are genetically modified soybeans.

This year's No.1 Document of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has a statement on the issue of genetically modified organisms, which is to strengthen the safety management and scientific popularization of agricultural genetically modified organisms research, and strengthen the research of agricultural genetically modified organisms technology. This is our consistent policy, because genetically modified organisms can be said to be a new technology and industry with great development prospects. It can be said that in the field of transgenic research in China, we started relatively early. We have a good team of scientists. Although there is a clear gap between our research level and that of the developed countries in the world in general, we can be said to be in the world's leading level in some fields. In particular, the research on transgenic rice and maize can be said to be at a leading level. We are supporting scientists to seize the commanding heights of agricultural genetically modified biotechnology. China, as a country with 1.3 billion people, has more people and less land. Agricultural development is facing increasingly strong environmental and resource constraints. We cannot fall behind in the research of genetically modified biotechnology, which is clear.

This year's Central Document No. 1 proposed to strengthen the management of agricultural genetically modified organisms safety, which is also China's consistent policy. Proceeding from its own national conditions and drawing on international experience, China can say that we have established a legal and regulatory system, a technical regulation system and a government administrative system for the safety management of agricultural genetically modified organisms that are in line with international standards. This system can be said to cover all aspects of GM from research, testing, production, processing, import licensing to product labeling. It can be said that all activities and behaviors in China have laws and regulations to follow. It must be illegal to produce and plant without approval. There is no doubt that as soon as our administrative department finds out, it will definitely impose severe punishment according to law.

Because the No. 1 Document of this year has been released on Sunday, yesterday I saw that the media, including the Internet, were paying a lot of attention to some hot spots of the No. 1 Document, one of which was to strengthen the scientific popularization of agricultural transgenic biotechnology. Transgene, we should first admit that it is a scientific problem. If we do not engage in research, we may know a little about it. We can only read some articles of scientists to understand some basic knowledge. We have never known its origin and development so accurately, but transgenic technology is really a very sensitive issue of concern to the whole society. It is a hot issue that people pay attention to in their daily life.

Sometimes a scientific problem will become a social problem. You can see that it is reported by the media, or even ask a consumer in the food market or food store about GM, and some people will talk about GM discoloration. Why should we emphasize the popularization of transgenic technology? It is hoped that the public, including the media, will have a comprehensive, objective and original understanding of the history, development, characteristics, safety and risks of transgenic technology, including our current safety management system in China, as well as the safety management system of transgenic biotechnology in other countries More comprehensive understanding. We should unveil the mystery of transgenic technology and treat transgenic technology and products more rationally on the basis of respecting science. As a big country, it is clear that the market of China's agricultural genetically modified products cannot be occupied by foreign products. thank you.

Why the No.1 Document of the Central Committee mentions anti-corruption

Why does "No. 1 Document" raise the issue of anti-corruption and rule of law so unusually on the issues of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. The answer is that anti-corruption and the rule of law are also productive forces by applying the Marxist discourse system.

The current situation of "depression" in Japan

For a long time, the samurai who committed suicide under the cherry tree have become symbolic "aesthetic symbols" in Japan. In my opinion, this is just the romantic view of a litterateur. Now, after a comprehensive analysis of the cause of death of suicide in Japan, it is found that it is actually caused by a disease that people are both familiar with and unfamiliar with - depression.
