One is to give people medicine to treat diseases, and the other is to give chickens feed. How are these two things linked? Recently, the Nanjing Jiangning Police and the Drug Administration jointly uncovered a major case of producing and selling counterfeit drugs. The client was a couple from Henan Province. They used to be cooks, but now they think the air quality is poor. Many people are suffering from respiratory diseases, so they don't cook any food, and simply switch to "magic medicine". They set up shop online, combined with "fashionable" marketing methods, and cheated many people. Jiao Zhe, reporter of Yangtze Evening News

At the end of 2013, Jiangning District Food and Drug Administration and the Public Security Bureau in Nanjing successively received a report from a public, reflecting that the medicine he bought online for the treatment of asthma had no effect after taking it, and suspected that it was a fake product. It is understood that the party concerned purchased such drugs on the Internet through the website of a well-known hospital. The online salesperson claimed to be the doctor of the hospital, saying that this medicine is the latest scientific research achievement of the hospital and can be given to patients before purchase. The patient, who lives in Jiangning District, felt that the effect was OK after taking it, so he bought a large number of drugs at a high price. On average, a small box of capsule drugs cost 100 yuan. However, after buying home, the patient felt that there was a difference between the drugs he had previously experienced for free. After taking several courses of treatment, his condition did not improve, but worsened.

After careful observation, there is no factory name, address or production approval from the national health department on these drugs. After inspection by Nanjing Food and Drug Inspection Institute, it was determined that the two drugs provided by the complainant contained five illegally added ingredients, which were identified as fake drugs. After receiving the police, the police of Dongshan Police Station of Jiangning Public Security Branch immediately launched the investigation of the case.

The police disguised themselves as drug buyers and conducted a follow-up investigation through the "online consultation" on the sales website. It turned out that Mr. Li had set up fake websites of famous hospitals on the Internet, such as Nanjing Medical University, the Respiratory Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University, and the Dermatology Hospital of Chongqing Union Medical College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He used the "online consultation and chat" tool to attract patients and claimed that the latest scientific research achievements of the "hospital" could rapidly treat tracheitis, asthma and other diseases, And sell fake medicines such as "Kechuanlikang" and "Baicao Fukangning" to patients. In order to attract purchase, they will first send some real medicines to people for free.

According to the information provided by the express, the police determined that the suspect of counterfeiting was from Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The police went to Henan to investigate and found that the suspect was very cunning and often changed his contact information, delivery place and bank account number. In the end, through the details of online transactions, the police went to the bank to retrieve hundreds of withdrawal video surveillance, and identified the suspects as local residents, Mr. and Mrs. Li. The dens for making fake medicines are in an ordinary residential building. On February 27 this year, the police arrested two suspects on the spot and seized a large number of pills and packaged drugs on the spot.

After examination, the police found that Mr. and Mrs. Li were originally cooks in the hotel, and none of them had ever obtained medical qualifications, let alone the relevant administrative license for drug sales. The two explained that they found that the air quality was getting worse and worse this year, and many people were suffering from respiratory diseases. They thought there was a "business opportunity". So they simply switched careers, using some powders, capsules and bottles purchased from illegal channels to make their own medicines at home. They would also, according to the needs of patients, repackage fake medicines, change the production date and batch number and other methods to hoodwink online consumers and sell them through online stores for illegal profits. What are the ingredients of these "powder"? According to Li, it was said that it was a non-toxic common Chinese medicine ingredient such as licorice, but the police found a large amount of chicken feed among the piles of raw materials at the site of the fake dens. At present, Mr. and Mrs. Li have been detained.
