The college has set up 9 academic teams and 1 basic teaching team according to the discipline research direction to carry out research in the fields of multimedia technology, artificial intelligence, cyberspace security, etc. In recent years, the college has successively undertaken scientific research projects such as the national key research and development plan, the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and joint projects, and has published 5 high-level SCI papers per capita per year.The college also participated in the construction of the "CERNET Demonstration Project of China Education and Research Computer Network" and the "China Education and Research Grid" major projects as a major unit. In the past five years, the college has won two first prizes, six second prizes and two third prizes for scientific and technological progress in Guangdong Province, and the "Exploration and Practice of Computer Innovation Talent Training Mode" has won the first prize for teaching achievements in Guangdong Province.
