In October 1909, 14 students from the official class of the former Gansu Legal and Political Hall graduated.

Helan Hall, with a total construction area of 25612 square meters, was put into use in July 2002. It is mainly used for experimental teaching by colleges of information, science, physics, chemical engineering, law, mathematics and biology.[96]

Cuiying Mountain
Cuiying Mountain, formerly known as White Tiger Mountain.In September 2001, Yuzhong Campus of Lanzhou University was put into use.Then the Houshan Mountain was renamed "Cuiying Mountain"."Cuiying" originated from Cuiyingmen in Quran. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Zuo Zongtang, a famous general of the Hunan Army who was then governor of Shaanxi and Gansu, set up a Gansu examination hall in Cuiyingmen in Lanzhou to hold a rural examination.In the first year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1909), the Gansu School of Law and Politics was established, which is the predecessor of Lanzhou University. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in northwest China.Then the School of Law and Politics moved here from Houfu Street in Inner City. Until liberation, it was the campus of Lanzhou University."Cuiying" means gathering talents.[96]
Academician Lin
The Academician Forest of Lanzhou University is planted with six kinds of rare trees, including cedar, ginkgo, white pine and cedar.The academician forest is planted at one time to ensure the survival rate of trees.When academicians arrive, they will only carry out fertilization, watering, earth building and memorial ceremonies.At the same time, a number of stone tables and benches were set up in the academician forest for students to read and rest in the morning.[96]
