Describe a time that you wore a type of clothes for a special occasion

You should say:

What it was

When you wore it

And explain how you felt about it

When I was a college student in 2011, I had a short and unforgettable experience. At that time, we wore yellow uniforms to volunteer for the 2011 Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition for two weeks.

Back in 2011 when I was a student in college, I had a very unforgettable memory that I wore a yellow uniform to perform as a volunteer in the 2011 Xi’an Horticulture Exposition for two weeks.

At that time, we had a lot of work in the park. My position was receptionist and keeper of tourists' personal belongings. I still remember that the volunteer clothes we wore at that time were bright yellow, with large LOGO marks on the front and back. When we perform tasks in the park, we can easily be identified as volunteers.

We had lots of work to do in the park everyday and my job was to be a receptionist and keeper for tourists’ personal belongs. I still  remember that our uniform was in contrast yellow with a two big LOGOs on both sides. It was pretty noticeable that we were volunteers when working in the park.

At that time, especially in the hot days after a rainstorm, volunteer work was very hard. Even so, none of us is absolutely bored with the task. Instead, we feel very similar to helping every tourist coming in front of us. Is this because of our responsibility? In my opinion, this is not the case. Each of us takes this volunteer activity as a matter of pride, because we are all selected from thousands of peers to carry out this task.

You know, the volunteering work was kind of tough especially during the sultry weather after a shower. Despite this, none of us felt  it’s a boring task but rather we would really love to land a hand to every individual who was approaching to us. This article is from Laokaoya Website. Do not copy or repost it. It is because of the responsibility that drove us to do so? No, to my knowledge. Actually everyone regarded this as something we can take pride in because we were selected from thousands of peers to undertake this mission.

The most interesting thing is that when we put on our volunteer clothes, for others, especially those scalpers and thieves, we are social policemen and will try to avoid them.

What’s most interesting was that once we were in our uniform, it seemed to others that we were kind of vigilantes, and those bad guys I mean the scalpers and the thieves were somehow intimidated when we were besides them.

It was not until that volunteer experience that I felt that uniforms were so important on specific occasions.

It wasn’t until that experience did I realise that how powerful and important the uniform was for specific purpose.
