Changping has a long history and a galaxy of talents. Since the Western Han Dynasty, it was established as a county, and then it was upgraded to Changping Prefecture in the Ming Dynasty. With Yong'an City and Gonghua City built, it is known as the "pillow of the capital" and the "important place of the capital". There are two world cultural heritage sites, the Ming Tombs and Juyongguan Pass, and nine national and municipal cultural relics protection sites, including Yinshan Pagoda Forest, Heping Temple and Baifuquan. In history, there were "Yanping Eight Scenic Spots", such as Juyong Jixue, Yinshan Iron Wall, Huyu Huijin, etc. There is "Snow Mountain Culture", the earliest Neolithic cultural site found in Beijing. It has been more than 2000 years since the Qin Dynasty established the Military Capital County and the Western Han Dynasty established Changping County.
The origin of Changping: Changping has set up a county since the Western Han Dynasty. One of its names comes from the nobility of the Han Dynasty, the Marquis of Changping, meaning prosperity and peace. The specific location is probably the southern area of Juyong Pass. Juyong Pass was Juyong County at that time, which is now the Yanqing area. At that time, Jundu County was located in the Jundu Mountain area of Changping. After the Ming Dynasty established its capital in Beijing, the imperial mausoleum was located at the foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping. Changping County moved to Yongxian in the second year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1451)
