Changping covers an area of 1343.5 square kilometers and now governs 8 streets and 14 towns. By the end of 2023, the permanent population of Changping District will be 2.272 million, an increase of 5000 over the end of last year, or 0.22%. Among them, there were 1.326 million permanent immigrants, an increase of 7000 or 0.53% year on year, accounting for 58.4% of the permanent population. According to preliminary accounting, Changping District will achieve a regional GDP of 142.46 billion yuan in 2023, an increase of 6.4% over the previous year at constant prices. Among them, the primary industry realized an added value of 680 million yuan, up 3.7% year on year; The added value of the secondary industry was 48.82 billion yuan, up 7.8% year on year; The tertiary industry realized an added value of 92.96 billion yuan, up 5.8% year on year. Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, we have adhered to the strategy of revitalizing the district through science and education, and the innovation driven development strategy. Our comprehensive economic strength, urban and rural development level, and people's well-being have improved significantly, and all undertakings have made great progress. In particular, after General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Beijing twice in 2014 and 2017, he grasped the historical opportunity of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and the functional construction of the "four centers" of the capital. The "pillow of the capital" in history is a city of cultural charm in the new era. There is "Snow Mountain Culture", the earliest Neolithic cultural site found in Beijing. It has been more than 2000 years since the Qin Dynasty established the Military Capital County and the Western Han Dynasty established Changping County. In the Ming Dynasty, it was upgraded to Changping Prefecture, built with Yong'an City and Gonghua City, and known as "the pillow of the capital" and "the place of great importance". There are two world cultural heritage sites and six national cultural relics protection sites, including Yinshan Pagoda Forest and Baifuquan Site. Juyong Pinnacle is one of the eight scenic spots in Yanjing in history. The Nankou Special Branch of the Communist Party of China is one of the earliest branches of the Workers' Party in Beijing. The first shot of the People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression was launched in Changping. In recent years, we have insisted on strengthening the district with cultural talents and culture, implemented the Changping historical and cultural combing project, and excavated, sorted out, rescued and protected a number of historical and cultural resources. Beijing is building three major cultural belts, namely, the Grand Canal, the Great Wall, and the Yongding River in Xishan. Changping is the only area where the construction of the three major cultural belts has been carried. We are implementing the Changping historical and cultural landmark project, building the Baifuquan Heritage Park at the source of the Grand Canal, strengthening the overall protection of cultural heritage and various cultural relics, building a service area for the Ming Tombs portal and a cultural and creative area with characteristics in the east of the new city, and striving to build a city of cultural charm that combines historical culture with modern science and technology.
