According to the memorandum, Siemens and Alibaba Cloud will give full play to their respective technological and industrial advantages to create a leading Internet of Things platform to support strategic initiatives such as "Industry 4.0" and the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.

"Through our cooperation with Alibaba Cloud, we continue to build a global industrial digital network. This cooperation is a milestone and will help China, a world manufacturing power, apply the 'Industry 4.0' solution. Now, our customers will also be able to use MindSphere to unleash the potential of industrial Internet of Things with the help of China's leading platform," said Kaisa, president and CEO of Siemens.

Hu Xiaoming, president of Alibaba Cloud, said, "Today's establishment of the partnership between the two sides marks another exciting step in Alibaba Cloud's global digital transformation. We are very happy to cooperate with Siemens to accelerate the upgrading of industrial IoT products and services, thus helping the breakthrough and progress of industrial manufacturing."

The two companies plan to launch the MindSphere cloud platform deployed in Alibaba Cloud in 2019. MindSphere is Siemens' cloud based open IoT operating system, which is a part of Siemens' comprehensive digital solution. MindSphere deployed in Alibaba Cloud will provide powerful services for Chinese enterprises.
