According to the data released by the Norwegian Seafood Council, in the first nine months of this year, Norway's export of fresh cod (including fillets) fell 4% year-on-year to 57000 tons, but the export volume increased 3% to NOK 65 million (US $7.8 million).
In September this year, the export volume of Norwegian pollock reached 1400 tons, down 9% from September last year, while the export value remained the same as last year.
The reason why the export volume of pollock has not decreased is mainly driven by the 9% increase in the price of pollock this year, because the overall quantity of frozen pollock has decreased, leading to the price increase.
