Recently, Hangzhou Ruili Expressway Bidu Beipanjiang No. 1 Bridge was certified by Guinness World Records Co., Ltd., a world record certification agency. The bridge deck of Beipanjiang No. 1 Bridge has a vertical height of 565.4 meters from the river surface, which won the title of "the highest bridge in the world" and was recorded in the history of world records. The bridge also won the "Nobel Prize" in the world bridge circle - Gustav Gold Prize in 2018.
The first bridge of Beipanjiang River is located at the junction of Yunnan Province and Guizhou Province, crossing the Beipanjiang Grand Canyon, and is a key control project of Bijie Duge section of Hangzhou Ruili Expressway. The total length of the bridge is 1341.4 meters. The main bridge is a steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge with a span of 720 meters, ranking the second in the world among similar bridges. The height difference between the bridge deck and the valley bottom is 565.4 meters, which is equivalent to the height of 200 floors. It is currently the "highest bridge in the world". CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Bureau is responsible for the construction of the Guizhou shore of the bridge. The project was started in 2012 and opened to traffic on December 29, 2016.
