Notice on Organizing the Selection of "Zhaokun Scholarship" for 2022-2023 Academic Year

Dear students

In order to promote the development of education in Beijing Jiaotong University, Huang Chao, an alumnus of the School of Computer Science of our university in 2002, donated 1 million yuan in 2020 to set up the "Zhaokun Education Fund" in the school to reward and support full-time undergraduate students of our university, with the standard of 10000 yuan/person/year. The selection arrangement is hereby notified as follows:

1、 Recommended quota allocation

There is a total of 1 recommended quota in our school. Please note that this is only a recommended quota. Recommendation to the school does not necessarily mean that the student will win the prize. Later, the school will conduct a unified interview to produce the final list of winners.  

2、 Selection conditions

(1) Full time undergraduate students from sophomores to seniors in our school, whose academic achievements rank top 60% of the majors, comply with national laws and regulations, school rules and disciplines, and have no violations of laws and disciplines;

(2) Student entrepreneurs;

(3) There are innovators or inventors in a certain field;

(4) Winners in various competitions at the national, provincial, municipal and school levels;

(5) Those who have outstanding achievements in job activities in social organizations or school, department, class organizations or associations.

Item 1 of the above selection criteria is the primary condition. Those who meet one of items 2-5 of the selection criteria can apply. If the number of applicants is large, priority will be given to the students who meet the most criteria 2-5.

3、 Timing

Before 24:00, April 26-30: apply for students' self declaration, fill in Annex 1:2022-2023 Academic Year "Zhaokun Scholarship" Application Form and Annex 2: 2022-2023 Academic Year "Zhaokun Scholarship" Recommended List Summary Form, and send to 22110170@bjtu.edu.cn , subject to the time when the email is received by the email.

From May 6 to May 12, the scholarship evaluation team of the College organized anonymous evaluation to determine and publicize the candidate list to be recommended.

From March 14 to May 15: the Student Office reviews the list and submits it to the Education Foundation.

4. Tentatively in the middle and late May: organize candidate student interviews.

5. Tentative late May: the school will publicize the list of award-winning students.

6. Tentative June: online application of students and online approval of the college; Students submit the special scholarship evaluation form+acceptance speech (about 800 words)+photo (1 recent style photo) (to be notified later); School review and summary; Grant scholarships.

4、 Specific requirements

1. All students are required to fill in the application form truthfully and carefully. The academic achievements, professional rankings, total number of students in this major, awards, social work positions, etc. in the application form are all 2022-2023 school year. Applicants must check with grade instructors for accuracy. If any information in the application form is inconsistent with the actual situation, it shall be deemed as invalid application.

2. The school will determine and interview the scholarship interviewees according to the candidate list. Within 5 working days after the interview, the final list of scholarship winners will be issued and the scholarship winners will be publicized. The interview time will be notified later.

3. All applicants need to promise to cooperate with the college and school to complete the follow-up application and writing the acceptance speech.

4. For students who have been disciplined by students, the college can recover their scholarships according to the relevant regulations of the school.
