Invigorate the spleen

Methods of treating spleen deficiency
Tonifying the spleen, one of the tonifying methods, is a method for treating spleen deficiency. The spleen is the foundation of acquired life, the source of qi and blood biochemistry, and the essence and qi of the five internal organs all depend on the transport and transformation function of the spleen. Therefore, spleen deficiency can lead to deficiency of other organs, and diseases of other organs often affect the spleen, forming spleen deficiency syndrome. When the spleen is deficient, clinically, it may show delayed reception, abdominal distention, diarrhea, loose stools, fatigue, edema, muscle wasting, and bleeding in the stool, bleeding, and women's menorrhagia. Tonifying the spleen can make the spleen strong and invigorate the spleen, and restore the function of the spleen to normal in transportation, clearing, regulating blood, nourishing muscles and limbs. Commonly used spleen tonics include ginseng, codonopsis pilosula, atractylodes macrocephala, yam, yunling, lotus meat, etc. Spleen deficiency syndrome mainly includes spleen qi deficiency and spleen yang deficiency. The specific application of invigorating the spleen can be divided into invigorating the spleen and qi, warming and invigorating the spleen yang, invigorating qi and raising yang, invigorating qi and absorbing blood, etc. [1]

The method of invigorating the spleen is often used in combination with other therapies. The spleen yang depends on the warmth of the kidney yang. The spleen and kidney yang deficiency occurs, which shows cold shape, cold limbs, pale complexion, cold pain in the waist and knees or in the abdomen, lower benefit and elimination of grain, or diarrhea at the fifth hour (abdominal pain and diarrhea at dawn). The spleen and kidney are used together to warm and nourish the spleen and kidney, and usually treated with Sishen Pills. Liver disease easily affects the spleen and leads to spleen deficiency. For example, in the syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, in addition to the general symptoms of spleen deficiency, there are also chest and flank distension, pain, good rest, mental depression or irritability, which are commonly treated with Xiaoyao Powder.
