The prosecution accused Li Xinghua of taking advantage of his position to accept many bribes such as cash, stocks and dry shares, among which the largest cash bribe was up to 18.5 million yuan and 1.1 million Hong Kong dollars.
This case was investigated and concluded by the Guangdong Provincial People's Procuratorate. After the Guangdong Provincial People's Procuratorate negotiated with the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court to designate jurisdiction, it was transferred to the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court for review and prosecution on June 12, 2014.

The biggest bribery case of Li Xinghua was that he received 18.5 million yuan and 1.1 million Hong Kong dollars from Ye, Tang, Luo, Wang and other relevant leaders of Guangzhou Shoucheng Taihe Co., Ltd;25% shares (equivalent to 5 million yuan) of Guangzhou Huizhong Hongtai Information Technology Co., Ltd. received bribes from Mr. Tang and Mr. Ye.
According to the accusation of the procuratorate, the defendant Li Xinghua took advantage of his position to illegally accept other people's property and seek benefits for others while serving as the director of the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and the secretary of the Party Leadership Group. Li Xinghua mainly provided care for enterprises to obtain technology support funds, and received huge bribes and dry shares. During this period, Li Xinghua received a total of 1.91 million yuanUS $30000, HK $1.1 million, and 21.6 million yuan of corporate dry shares received. Most of his bribes were for his son to repay gambling debts.
During the trial, the accusers and defenders cross examined all kinds of evidence and held a court debate. Li Xinghua pleaded guilty in court. The court will make a judgment according to the principles of taking facts as the basis, taking the law as the criterion, according to the facts, evidence and relevant legal provisions of Charlemagne in the hearing, and fully considering the opinions of the public prosecutor, the defendant and the defender.[9]
