The power batteries of Tesla models currently produced in China come from different suppliers, The Model 3 car uses the lithium iron phosphate battery of Ningde era, LG Chem's batteries are used for long endurance and more expensive versions.
Tesla China's official website has opened the option of Model Y. According to the official website information, the domestic Model Y will be the first to launch two models, namely, the long endurance all wheel drive version and the performance high-performance version, with a pre-sale price of 488000 to 535000 yuan. Of course, the price may change when actually delivered.
According to the previous declaration drawing, the appearance design of the domestic model Y will be consistent with that of the new Tesla Model 3. The chrome plated trim strip on the body will be replaced by the smoked trim strip, and the head lamp shape will also be replaced with the latest design. The length, width and height of the new car are 4750mm/1921mm/1624mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2890mm.
It is reported that Tesla has a plan to produce its own batteries, but the conditions are not yet ripe, and it will take time before it can actually mass produce. In the future, Tesla will still use power batteries from many suppliers for a long time, including Ningde Times LG, etc.
