The leader of the Dutch far right Liberal Party, Helmut Wilders, announced on the 15th local time that the Liberal Party had reached an agreement with three other political parties on the formation of a coalition government, but the choice of a new prime minister had not yet been determined.

Wilders said that the four parties also need to discuss and formally approve the text of the agreement within their respective parties. The four parties are still negotiating on the choice of the new prime minister, and have not reached an agreement yet.

Previously, the four parties reached a compromise in the negotiations, stipulating that the leaders of the four parties would continue to serve as members of the House of Representatives in the future, rather than serving as the prime minister or minister of the new government.

In December last year, the Netherlands held elections for the House of Representatives. The Liberal Party won 37 of the 150 seats in the House of Representatives, becoming the largest party in the House of Representatives for the first time. Subsequently, the Liberal Party and the Liberal Democratic People's Party, the New Social Contract Party and the Peasant Party, which gained relatively more votes in the election, began negotiations on the formation of a coalition government.
