"Further comprehensively deepening reform", the main task to plan this year, and the key issues to be studied at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, are of great importance. "After the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, I have been thinking about further deepening reform in an all-round way," said the General Secretary at the symposium.

At the fourth meeting of the 20th Central Committee for Comprehensively Deepening Reform, the General Secretary reviewed "further comprehensively deepening reform" from the perspective of historical development: "This is not only a continuation of the practice of comprehensively deepening reform since the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, but also a new chapter of the new journey to promote Chinese modernization."

At the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held on April 30 this year, it was pointed out that in the face of the complicated international and domestic situations, the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, and the new expectations of the people, we must continue to push forward the reform. This is the importance of "further comprehensively deepening reform" based on the practical dimension.

Reform can only proceed. Taking the new expectations of the people as an example, the General Secretary's two sentences are just logical annotations - one is that "reform is the driving force of development" mentioned at the symposium, and the other is that "development is the key to achieving people's happiness".

To make further progress on the achievements already made in comprehensively deepening reform, we need a correct direction and scientific methods. At the symposium, the General Secretary made a series of explanations on further deepening the reform comprehensively.

"To further deepen reform in an all-round way, we should focus on the theme of promoting Chinese style modernization, highlight the reform focus, hold the value orientation, stress the ways and means, and add impetus to the completion of the central task and the realization of strategic goals". The biggest policy of Chinese style modernization is between the lines.

"To further deepen the reform comprehensively, we should anchor the general goal of improving and developing the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity", the General Secretary stressed. As the "practical sequel" of "comprehensively deepening reform", "further comprehensively deepening reform" is consistent with the general goal of the former.

"We should closely promote Chinese style modernization, adhere to the combination of goal orientation and problem orientation, run to the problem, focus on the problem reform, and resolutely eliminate the ideological concepts and institutional mechanisms that hinder the promotion of Chinese style modernization", which reflects the determination to "reform with strong flavor and sufficient quality".

At the symposium, the General Secretary gave strategic guidance on how to further deepen the reform in an all-round way, based on long-term thinking and the grasp of the actual situation after inspection and research.

This symposium is a solid survey. The nine representatives who spoke at the symposium, including representatives of state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, foreign-funded enterprises, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan funded enterprises, and three experts and scholars, are both practical and theoretical, and different perspectives converge here.

In recent years, the General Secretary has always called for the combination of strengthening top-level design and insisting on the combination of asking questions and thinking with the people.

Before the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the General Secretary asked for opinions and suggestions on comprehensively deepening the reform. The General Secretary requested that "the wisdom and strength of the overwhelming majority of the people should be concentrated on the reform and work with the people to push forward the reform".

In 2020, in order to draft the "14th Five Year Plan" proposal, the General Secretary intensively hosted seven symposiums, and the relevant channels for soliciting opinions were also extended to the Internet. This innovative approach was also extended to soliciting opinions on the work related to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

At this symposium, after listening to the speeches made by representatives of enterprises and experts, the General Secretary said: "The CPC Central Committee has made major decisions and formulated important documents, conducted in-depth research and listened extensively to the opinions of all parties, which is the consistent practice and good tradition of our party.
