Who became a joke when the country attempted a coup?

China news agency, Beijing, May 25 (AFP) reported that the Congolese (DRC) army announced on May 19 that it had foiled a coup attempt in the capital Kinshasa. It is worth noting that several Americans and one Briton participated in the coup.

According to a Congolese military spokesman, about 40 attackers were arrested and four others were killed by the security forces, including their leader, "a Congolese naturalized American named Christian Malanga".

According to the BBC and the Sahara News website, Malanga was born in Kinshasa in 1983 and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA as a refugee "seeking political asylum" in 1998.

Malanga's personal website announced that he had joined the "junior reserve officer training group" with a US military background and received military skills training such as queue, physical strength and shooting, "which became the most important cornerstone in his life".

In 2006, Malanga returned to DRC for military service and was soon promoted to the rank of captain. Four years later, he retired from the army and went on business. Malanga has been a member of the opposition in DRC since 2011, but returned to the United States to settle down in 2012. Later, in an interview with the US "Pan African Vision" website, he admitted that he was seeking support from the US and the West.

According to data, Malanga went to the United States in 2012 to form the "Congolese United Party", urging Congolese (Kinshasa) expatriates to "oppose the current regime". He is not only close to US politicians, but also accused by the Congolese authorities of plotting to assassinate the country's leaders. In 2017, Malanga set up a government in exile in Belgium and served as the "President". A group of European and American dignitaries were present to congratulate him. It can be seen that it is inextricably linked with the United States and the West.

Although Malanga tried hard to whitewash, the New York Post revealed that he was sentenced to 30 days in prison for armed attack when he was 18 years old, and was also accused of domestic violence, unlawful assault, disturbance of public order and other crimes, and was involved in legal disputes over custody and custody of children.

Although he is only in his early 40s, Malanga is the father of eight children, including his son Marcel, who was arrested in the coup. According to the British Daily Mail, Marcel's social account was full of craze for war and weapons, and said he wanted to "change the world" with his father. As for the other westerners, their true identities vary, but the British media disclosed that an American, Zalman Bolen, was convicted of drug trafficking in 2014.

Two men arrested or CIA agents

After the attempted coup, the Associated Press teased Malanga's "not smart enough" in its report, called him "a dead leader" by interviewing relatives, and played a sad card to excuse Marcel. Even the foreign netizens couldn't bear this, and said frankly, "(Marcel's) mother said that his son was innocent, and the latter also screamed innocent when he was arrested, but this is not the case."

US officials are cautious. A spokesman for the US State Department said that people who were known to be "allegedly" US citizens were arrested. The US ambassador to the DRC said that "we will fully cooperate with the DRC authorities to investigate these criminal acts."

At present, the context of the incident has not been announced. The British Daily Mail quoted the Congolese media as saying that the two American men arrested were "CIA agents", which has yet to be verified, but the fact that the United States has long been involved in African affairs is indisputable.

According to the BBC website, Lumumba, the first prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was instigated to kill in 1961, participated in the hunt for Mandela in 1962, planned to overthrow Nkrumah, the "father of Ghana", in 1966, and was involved in the civil war in Angola in the 1970s and 1980s, supporting Chadian warlords to seize power. The main culprits behind this are the CIA.

In addition, during the Cold War, the United States and the West also supported mercenaries and other "agent forces" to make trouble in Africa. For example, the notorious Western mercenary leader, former British Major Mike Hall, has been responsible for Africa for 20 years. According to data, the former killed 5000 to 10000 local people in just 20 months.

In 2004, an attempted coup in Equatorial Guinea, the son of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and a group of western political and business dignitaries, were also exposed to providing millions of dollars to recruit mercenaries, buy weapons and plot.

It can be seen that one of the major factors for the African continent to fall into the dilemma of violent conflict and turbulence for a long time is the ghosts of colonialism in the United States and the West.

   This adventure "is a joke"

If the above mentioned is "sabotage", maintaining a large military force in Africa under the banner of "peacekeeping" and "anti-terrorism", or even naked military intervention, is one of the new colonial methods commonly used by the United States and the West after the Cold War.

Over the past decade, more and more African people have seen clearly that the United States and the West have intervened in internal affairs, grabbed resources and sought private interests by means of stationing troops. From Niger to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), from Mali to Senegal, the "anti western sentiment" of the African continent is growing.

According to Reuters, since 2022, many countries in Africa have issued "eviction orders" to US and Western troops. In the past two months alone, Chad has asked the US military to stop its activities in the country's air base, Niger has asked the US military to leave before September 15, Senegal's Prime Minister questioned and criticized the French garrison, and EU troops have withdrawn from Mali.

Awakened Africa is unwilling to be controlled and manipulated by the former suzerain again, as evidenced by the rapid pacification of the attempted coup. Not only did the Chairperson of the African Union immediately support the DRC government and strongly condemn "any use of force to change the constitutional order of any African country", but the African Horizon website also pointed out that Malanga's armed adventure was "a joke" in the face of the crushing military advantage of the authorities.
