The Washington Post reported on November 16 that Musk sent a memo to Twitter employees, asking them to either promise to stay in the company or accept severance pay.
According to the report, Twitter employees need to fill in an online form before 5:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, or accept a severance payment equivalent to three months' salary. Musk said in his email that Twitter's culture will be "extremely hard core", requiring long time and high intensity work, "only excellent performance can qualify".
Three current employees who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals said that by the middle of Wednesday local time, members of the Twitter Trust and Security Team were discussing collective resignation, and the team was responsible for rejecting hate speech and wrong information.
