BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in the early morning of November 16 local time, the U.S. lunar rocket "Space Launch System" (SLS) was launched at the Kennedy Space Center, carrying the Orion spacecraft to carry out the "Artemis 1" mission.
The long-awaited launch was carried out after several delays, marking the first step for the United States to return to the moon. This mission is a non manned mission. If the mission is successful, NASA is expected to launch the "Artemis 2" manned flight around the moon as early as 2024, and finally the "Artemis 3" moon landing mission.
