The Suihua Meteorological Bureau was founded in June 1952. In 1982, it was changed from the leadership of the Administrative Office to the management system dominated by the leadership of the provincial meteorological bureau. It was named Suihua Regional Meteorological Bureau. In April 2000, it was renamed Suihua Meteorological Bureau, which governs 10 county (city, district) meteorological bureaus (stations). The city's meteorological department currently has 145 employees, 78 of whom have college degrees or above; There are 7 people with senior professional titles, 64 people with intermediate professional titles, and 47 people with primary professional titles. It has four management departments and five directly affiliated department level institutions

After more than 50 years of construction, the meteorological department of Suihua City has established a complete range of categories and layout throughout all counties (cities and districts) The reasonable three-dimensional meteorological detection network composed of automatic ground detection, weather radar and satellite cloud images has greatly improved the atmospheric detection capability. A computer communication network has been built with the municipal meteorological station as the center and the provincial bureau (station) as the upper link and the county (city, district) meteorological stations as the lower link. Satellite communication has been realized at the municipal level, and satellite communication single receiving stations have been built at the county stations, thus ensuring the accurate and rapid collection and transmission of a large amount of information. By the end of 2006, the city had established 153 automatic rainfall stations covering 10 county (city, district) bureaus, and the city bureau and 10 county (city, district) bureaus had completed the construction of the television consultation system. The meteorological service has developed into long, medium and short weather forecast and professional weather forecast, rainfall, moisture content, forest fire, climate data and climate analysis, agricultural meteorological forecast and grain yield forecast, development and utilization of agricultural climate data, artificial precipitation and hail suppression, ultraviolet index forecast, air pollution assessment and lightning disaster prevention. The meteorological service field has gone deep into agriculture In the fields of industry, transportation, telecommunications, urban construction and other fields, meteorological service means have been widely used, such as television, radio, newspapers, "12121" weather forecast automatic answering system and microcomputer terminal transmission. In 2006, we cooperated with Beijing Muqi Company to develop the Decision making Meteorological Information Service System, which is currently running well.
