On March 11, at the voluntary afforestation site in Panlongshan, Wushan County, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, the cadres and the masses involved in tree planting were full of energy. They planted spruce trees and red leaf plums in teams of two or three people, with a clear division of labor for the land.

It is understood that from 2023 to now, relying on the water conservation and biodiversity conservation and restoration project in the western section of the Qinling Mountains, Wushan County has vigorously promoted the construction of the Panlong Mountain afforestation base, completed 26800 mu of artificial afforestation, realized large-scale afforestation of barren hills and slopes in the whole region, and built a green ecological barrier in accordance with the principles of adjusting measures to local conditions, adapting trees to the location, and determining forests by water.

Data shows that since the "14th Five Year Plan", Wushan County has completed 58000 mu of artificial afforestation, 191000 mu of degraded forest restoration, 36000 mu of mountain closure for afforestation, and 58000 mu of degraded grassland improvement. At the same time, Wushan County mobilized all sectors of society and citizens of the right age to actively participate in voluntary tree planting, with an average annual planting of more than 1.2 million seedlings, and the national conscientious rate of voluntary tree planting reached more than 98%.
