Panorama, March 12 - The Australian stock market closed 2.4% higher on Wednesday, as financial stocks got a boost from the news of the Federal Reserve's capital injection, driving the index to reverse the decline of the previous day.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index closed 123.7 points higher at 5257.9, but the intraday gain of 4.6% eased. Today's closing was also the largest one-day percentage gain in recent four weeks.
