The notice issued by the China Financial Futures Exchange yesterday (March 1) said that after study, it was decided that the trading margin standard of IF0704 contract would be increased from 12% to 15% from the settlement time on March 1, 2007 (Thursday).

Previously, in all contracts of simulation trading, the trading margin standard of IF0703 contract and IF0704 contract was 12%, and that of IF0706 contract and IF0709 contract was 15%. After this adjustment, except for the IF0703 contract, the margin standard for all other contracts is 15%.

The increase in the trading margin standard of IF0704 contract is due to the increase in market price volatility in recent days. CICC decided to increase the margin of IF0704 contract after measuring the risk of the recent trend of the contract price. The recent price fluctuation of IF0703 contract was relatively stable, so the trading margin was not increased.
